AIKO Extensions

1. Introduction to Extensions

AIKO can be enhanced with browser extensions that provide additional functionalities, integrate with external services, and improve your workflow. Extensions are available for all major browsers and can be easily installed as unpacked extensions.

What are extensions? Extensions add new features to AIKO, such as enhanced search capabilities, customized views, additional file format support, and integration with third-party tools.

2. Downloading Extensions

Download the AIKO extension for your browser using one of the links below. Make sure to choose the version that matches your browser type.

Note: After downloading, you'll need to extract the .zip file to a permanent location on your computer before installing.

3. Installing Unpacked Extensions

Follow the browser-specific instructions below to install the AIKO extension after downloading.

3.1 Chromium-based Browsers (Chrome, Edge, Brave)

  1. Extract the downloaded chrome.zip file to a folder on your computer.
  2. Open your browser and navigate to the extensions page:
    • Chrome: Enter chrome://extensions in the address bar
    • Edge: Enter edge://extensions in the address bar
    • Brave: Enter brave://extensions in the address bar
  3. Enable "Developer mode" by toggling the switch in the top-right corner.
  4. Click the "Load unpacked" button that appears.
  5. Browse to and select the folder where you extracted the extension files.
  6. The AIKO extension should now appear in your list of installed extensions.
  7. Come back to this page and refresh it to see the extension working.

3.2 Firefox-based Browsers

  1. Extract the downloaded firefox.zip file to a folder on your computer.
  2. Open Firefox and enter about:debugging in the address bar.
  3. Click "This Firefox" in the left sidebar.
  4. Click "Load Temporary Add-on".
  5. Browse to the folder where you extracted the extension and select the manifest.json file.
  6. The AIKO extension will be installed and appear in your add-ons list.
  7. Come back to this page and refresh it to see the extension working.

Note for Firefox users: Extensions loaded this way are temporary and will be removed when Firefox is closed. For permanent installation, you'll need to use Firefox Developer Edition or sign the extension. A signed version of this extension is on the way.

4. Managing Extensions

Once installed, you can manage the AIKO extension:

  • Click the extension icon in your browser toolbar to access quick actions.
  • Right-click the icon and select "Options" (or "Extension options") to configure settings.
  • To disable the extension temporarily, use the toggle switch in your browser's extensions page.
  • To remove the extension, click the "Remove" button in your browser's extensions page.

The extension integrates automatically with AIKO when you're logged in, providing enhanced features within the application.

5. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with the AIKO extension:

  • Ensure you've extracted all files from the zip file before installation.
  • Check that you're using a compatible browser version.
  • Try disabling other extensions that might conflict with AIKO.
  • Clear your browser cache and restart your browser.
  • If problems persist, try removing and reinstalling the extension.
